West Valley Puts Up A Good Fight But Ohlone Comes Through With The Win - Team News, 2012 Ohlone College Renegades Women's Volleyball

The Ohlone Women's Volleyball team traveled to Saratoga on Friday evening to play West Valley for the second time in conference and came out with a 3-1 victory, 24-26, 25-14, 25-22, 25-18.

The Lady Renegades started off slow, losing the first game by two points. But after the Renegades reenergized and changed their strategy, they came out to win the next three games with determination and tenacity. It was a match that everyone on the team played in and everyone on the team contributed to.

Freshman Outside Hitter Brittany Creel had 16 kills, 1 ace, 2 blocks and 5 digs. Libero Lindsey Calabrese had 30 digs and 3 aces. Both Emily Marden and Olivia Downing led the offense with Marden getting 23 assists and Downing finishing with 20 assists. Middle Blocker Selina Samorano had 6 blocks, 8 kills and 8 digs. Defensive Specialist Taylor Presley also contributed to the team's defensive success with 22 digs.
