Ohlone Renegades Women's Basketball

Hey Renegade fans, please COME OUT AND SUPPORT the Lady Reneades as they take on Las Positas College in the FIRST ROUND of the State Play-offs. This first round contest will be held at Las Positas College at 7:00 pm this Wednesday (February 27th). Let's make sure we are out in full force to support our Women’s Basketball team! As this season unfolded, the Lady Renegades finished with a respectable second place conference finish. They only managed two mere losses in conference play. Upon this team performance, Casceal Swaggerd, Kelly Fisher, and Taylor Lyons received first team all-conference. Caprice Hall, Ty Tobin, Geneaya Rogers, and Christina Dixon received honorable mention. Congratulations to all the Lady Renegades! You all made us proud!

The 2007-2008 regular season ended in winning fashion. The Lady Renegades walked into Monterey Pennisula College on the host team's sophomore night and stole the stage. Playing with a depleted squad, the Renegades battled for 40 minutes ensuring that they are the better team. The Renegades mightily downed Monterey, as they cruised to an 82-49 victory! In this game, Geneaya Rogers put up a triple double, as she finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 14 rebounds. Great job, Nay - and all the Lady Renegades!

Sophomore Night was a fun and emotional night.  On February 20th, the Ohlone College 2008 Sophomores received great gestures of due homage.  Kind words were expressed about all these young women who have fought hard to bring positive recognition to Ohlone College.  These young women and their proud guardians were, literally given THE RED CARPET TREATMENT as flowers were presented and respect was exuded onto them.  A most deserving celebration was in honor of the sophomores and their ever-supportive guardians.  THANKS, 2008 sophomores, for TWO GREAT YEARS!  We look forward to hearing about your many successes stories in your future endeavors!

The LADY RENEGADES TAKE DOWN SAN JOSE CITY COLLEGE AGAIN!  The team, while trailing throughout most of the contest, struggled to find the right pace and the bottom of the net.  Despite the many challenges they seemed to face throughout the game, the home team managed to put together a furious scramble the last seven minutes of the game.  Battling down by eight points, the Renegades made numerous intense defensive stances to battle back and overtake the Jaguars.  Their ferocious efforts to end Sophomore Night on a GREAT and VICTORIOUS note, concluded with a three point win over the visiting team.  This win clinched a second place finish for the Lady Renegades in Coast Conference play.  Ohlone Women’s Basketball Team’s next contest is at the home the ever-competitive, Monterey Peninsula College Women’s Basketball Team.  The game time is 7:00 PM on Friday night (2-22-08).  Hopefully, many Renegade fans can come on down to beautiful Monterey and support the Renegade team in this final 2007-2008 regular season competition.
