Coach Potestio is a Bay Area native, she is a graduate Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo, where she was a student athlete in both basketball and volleyball. She continued her basketball career at Holy Names University , in Oakland, CA. While at HNU, the Hawks captured three California Pacific Conference titles, as well as three NAIA Division II National Tournament appearances, 2009 through 2011. She began her coaching career at her alma mater as an assistant from 2012 through 2015. Then moved to Portland, OR, where she was an assistant coaching at Lewis and Clark College, a NCAA DIII institution. When asked what her most important role as a coach is she replied, preparing my student athletes for success on the court as well as life after basketball. Sure, as a coach I want to win, who doesn’t? But what’s most important is the realization that your student athletes gets an education they can use”.
