They just keep on winning. Ohlone's women (17-4 overall, 5-1) and men (21-1, 6-0) basketball teams continue their momentum toward the state playoffs in decisive victories over their respective conference contenders. Winning is a difficult thing to do in a team sport, but don't tell that to either team.
The women avenged their lone South Coast Conference loss with a total team effort against San Jose City College in an 80-56 win last Friday.
Salinna Grant had a game-high 17 points, all but one (a free throw) inside the 3-point line. Michelle Quist and Megan Foy had great games as well, contributing 16 and 12 points respectively between them. Mindi Winters was deadly behind the arc, connecting on three 3-pointers en route to a 15-point performance
They took on College of San Mateo on Wednesday night. Their next game will be at 5:30p.m. against Cabrillo College on Friday, Feb. 13 at Epler Gym.
The men upped their winning streak to 12 by defeating Skyline last Friday at home as well.
Mychal Green once again led the way with a game-high 28 points.
"Sometimes I am feeling it and I just know my shot is good," Green said.
The Renegades' offense complimented their seemingly perpetual motion offense, which has helped them gain their almost intimidating lead atop the Coast North Conference.
Chris Burnett, a 6-foot-3 freshman, had a stellar performance, totalling 20 points for the game.
The men will put their perfect conference record on the line against Foothill College on the road in Los Altos Hills on Feb. 13 at 5:30p.m.
