"Our bench is deeper than theirs," said Ohlone Coach Laura Elliot. "We have a greater amount of quality players."
Depth is exactly what the Renegades used to contain Siskiyous All-Conference guard Chrissy Watts. Watts had nearly averaged 20 points per game, but Ohlone diffused her, while building a 45-25 halftime lead.
Siskiyous would trim the Ohlone lead to 66-59 at the 5:10 mark of the second half behind three 3-pointers from Watts. But Watts? effort was a little too late as Ohlone emerged victorious and advanced to the second round against Delta College on Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in Stockton.
