Ohlone's women's team, who had clinched the CCN title two weeks ago, ended its regular season with a 55-37 win over De Anza, followed by a season-ending 70-61 loss (the Renegades' first in the CCN this year) to Foothill.
The game against De Anza came on Sophomore Night, which coach Julia Allender called "a bittersweet night for all the sophomores and myself." Ganeaya Rogers led the scoring with 24 points.
With Jasmine Duenas out due to an ankle sprain, Allender played only six players in the season-ender against Foothill on Friday, Feb. 19. Jasmine Rubin and Rogers both scored 17, and Crystal Mclaughlin added 10 in the loss. Allender was disappointed to finish the season with a conference loss, but was satisfied with her team's effort.
"We are playing really well as a team and Friday's game proved that we can compete and are ready for the playoffs," Allender said. "We are looking to get in there and make a statement."
