Sophomores Louise Valdez and Christina Dixon are Moving On
August 26, 2009 - Christina Dixon signed her Letter of Intent to Cal State San Bernadino for the 2009-2010 season. Chrisitna’s athleticism should fit her right in with the Coyotes next year and help them to a winning season. The Coyotes compete in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Louise Valdez plans on finishing her collegiate career at Cape Breton University which is located in Novia Scotia, Canada. Louise became a starter for the Renegades last year helping to lead them to their undefeated season. She looks forward to continuing her success with the Capers who are continual playoff contenders and one of the top programs in Canada.
Ohlone's outstanding players sign to four-year schools
June 17, 2009, Tri-City Voice - Ohlone women's basketball has one of the best team's in the state. The team swept through the competitive Coast Conference with an impressive 12-0 record and made it to the "Sweet 16" of the state basketball tournament. Lady Eagles Add California Guard for 2009-2010 Season
Press release, June 16, 2009 - Coach Walsh and his staff are excited to announce the addition of Cassie Bates from Fremont, CA. Bates is a 5'8" point guard from Ohlone College and will have three years of eligibility remaining. Cassie helped guide the Women's Basketball team to a perfect 12-0 conference record and an overall 19-12 record. The Renegades lost in the "Sweet 16" of the California Junior College state playoffs. Sophomore Casceal Swaggard signs her Letter of Intent
June 4, 2009 - "Casceal Swaggard (nickname CC), has been one of the leading scorers and rebounders for Ohlone the past two seasons. CC came to Ohlone from Oakland Tech High School in 2007 and made great improvements throughout her stay. Freshman Center Signs to UNLV
May 27, 2009 - "After one year at Ohlone College, freshmen center, Markiell Styles signed her letter of intent, Wednesday May 20th, to continue her basketball career at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. UNLV competes in the Mountain West Conference along with the University of Utah, BYU, New Mexico,San Diego State, Air Force, Texas Christian, Colorado State and the University of Wyoming some of the better women’s programs on the west coast." Ohlone finishes perfect in conference play
April 29, 2009 - "The Renegades of Ohlone College swept the Coast Conference finishing a perfect 12-0. A lineup consisting of 5 sophomores and 6 freshmen jam-packed with speed and determination they would ensure this years Ohlone women’s basketball team was not going to go unnoticed, and this was proven through the entirety of the regular season." Ohlone College announces new Women's Basketball Head Coach for 2009-2010 Season
Press release, April 20, 2009 - 'Athletic Director Chris Warden announces new Women’s Head Basketball Coach for Ohlone College. Chris said today that three year assistant coach Julia Allender would be fulfilling the role of Head Coach for the 2009-2010 season. “There were a lot of qualified applicants, but Julia has the entire package that I was looking for to take this program to the next level” said Warden.'
