Trustee Garrett Yee

- Board Committees: Ohlone College Foundation Representative, Finance & Facilities Committee.
A long-time resident of the tri-cities area, Garrett has served as President of Citizens for Better Community; District Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America, Chair of the Fremont Library Advisory Commission; and President of the South Bay Chinese Club. The Argus Newspapers named Garrett one of “10 People to Watch in 2003” and Citizens for Better Community named him the “Citizen of the Year” for 2004. In 2006, The Wall Street Journal featured Garrett and his family in a special story on patriotism. In 2007, the Boy Scouts named Garrett the “Scouter of the Year,” and the Indo-American Community Federation named him their “Citizen of the Year.”
A member of the Army Reserves, Lieutenant Colonel Garrett Yee recently served in the Middle-East. He is one of a few individuals who holds an elected office and has served in Iraq.
Garrett is a manager at the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California where he has worked for the past 19 years.
Garrett holds a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University and an MBA from Golden Gate University. Garrett and his wife Maria have been married 21 years and have two sons and one daughter.
