Celebrate Dia De Los Muertos - Campus Activities
Celebrate Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at Ohlone College on November 3 and 4. Dia De Los Muertos focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. Traditions include building private altars honoring the deceased, using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts. Learn more at Wikipedia, Day of the Dead.
Students, staff, and faculty are invited to help build Dia De Los Muertos altars on Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Meet at 2:00pm in Archer Art Gallery, Building 7, first floor, Fremont campus. If you would like to place items to remember those who have passed on the altars, please bring copies of photos, and items that can be replaced.
