Steps to Getting Ohlone College Credit

If you are currently enrolled in a 2+2 course (see 2+2 course listing) at your high school or Mission Valley ROP, you could be eligible to receive college credit for completing this class. The steps are simple, and the payoff is tremendous. Not only will you save money, but you will also save time by not having to repeat the course again in college.

  1. Meet Academic Requirements
    • In order to receive credit for this class, you will need to earn an A or B in the class and pass the "Credit by Examination" requirement. The exam could be anything from a report or project to a test. Your instructor will provide you with detailed information about the "Credit by Examination" requirement.
  2. Complete "2+2+2 Application for Credit"
    • If you meet the academic requirements in Step 1, your instructor will provide you with the "Ohlone College 2+2+2 Application for Credit (PDF file)." Please complete this form and give it to your instructor before the last day of class.
  3. Submit an Ohlone College Application
  4. Complete 6 Units at Ohlone and Submit "Request to Post 2+2 Units"
    • In order to receive 2+2 credit, you will need to complete 6 units at Ohlone College and complete the form, "Request to Post 2+2 Units (PDF file)." Download form or request this form from Ohlone College Office of Admissions and Records.
    • You may be required to submit a copy of your 2+2+2 Application for Credit and/or your high school or ROP transcripts for verification purposes. 2+2 credit will be posted on your Ohlone College transcript as a "CR" and not a letter grade.
  5. Meet With a Counselor
    • It is essential for you to meet with an Ohlone College Counselor as soon as possible after enrolling to discuss your educational and career plans. It is also important to tell your Counselor that you are eligible for 2+2 credit so that he/she can ensure that you receive the credit and receive proper academic advising.
