Fremont students receive biotech internships

Monday, August 1 , 2005—Reprinted from The Argus.

Fremont—Nine students received internships with local biotech companies after participating in the Ohlone College Biotech Institute, a four-week program to train high school students in biotechnology.

Robert Soo Hoo of Mission San Jose High School and Deboral Soong of Irvington High School were offered internships at Abgenix in Fremont.

Stephanie Chen, Kimberly Fok and Anjali Krishnan, all of Mission San Jose, were offered internships at Mendel Biotech of Hayward. Jennifer Taylor of Mission San Jose was offered an internship at Inamed of Fremont, and Byron Tang of Mission San Jose was offered an internship at Lab Vision/Neomarkers of Fremont. Sonali Sheth of Mission San Jose and Tara Makker of Irvington were both offered internships at Boston Scientific of Fremont.
