Summer Camps - Science

As the days get warmer, have you started wondering about your kids' summer schedules? While there are many opportunities to learn and have fun in the greater Tri-Cities area, early birds will be able to pick classes that are more compatible with their kids' interests and strengths. To help our readers with the process, we will print a series of articles on Summer Camp opportunities in your neighborhood and within easy driving distance.
For the first in our series, here are some science summer programs for the young inventors and explorers in your home:
Ohlone for Kids
This year's program will begin June 25 and end on July 26.
Session I and II classes will be offered offsite at two locations.
- Christian Community School located at 39700 Mission Blvd. in Fremont
- Newark Memorial High School campus located at 39375 Cedar Blvd., just off the Stevenson and I-880 exit. Session III courses will be held on the Ohlone Campus and at the Christian School as well.
Ohlone for Kids courses will run Mondays through Thursdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. (with no classes on July 4th). Course offerings will feature enrichment activities for designed for students entering grades 4-11. Students will practice critical thinking skills and enjoy a variety of activities including art, computers, physical education, math, reading, and writing.
Sample course offerings include Lego robotics, movie making, cartooning and performing arts in addition to courses in speech and algebra.
