Ohlone Community College women's softball Coach Donna Runyon will receive a 700th win Victory Club Milestone Award this month. The award is presented by Easton Sports at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Convention in Marco Island, Fla. The event celebrates Division I, II, III, National Association of Inter-collegiate Athletics, junior college and high school coaches who have received milestone wins in their careers.

The Ohlone women's softball team gave Runyon her 700th career win against De Anza College last year. Runyon has been coaching at Ohlone for 21 years. During her tenure the Lady Renegades have taken the Coast Conference title 10 times, including the last six years. Runyon was named Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2007 and at least six times prior.

Runyon celebrated her 600th win three years ago. Her teams have won at least 30 games per year since 2002.

Runyon began her junior college coaching career in 1980 at Cypress College in Southern California, where she coached six years with a 132-76 record. She then coached for a year at San Francisco City College before coming to Ohlone College.

The Lady Renegades' record last year was 41-9 overall and a perfect 24-0 in league play.

Their only other 40-win season was in 1990 when the team was 42-11. They have qualified for postseason play 17 of the last 20 years.
