Ohlone begins $349M upgrade

Ohlone Community College District has plans to install solar equipment at its Fremont campus this summer.

The project is part of the college’s district-wide improvement plans over the next 15 years, funded through a $349 million bond measure approved last November that will bring work to both the Fremont and Newark campuses.

The district will issue a request for proposal for the project — an installation of solar equipment that will generate 1 to 3 megawatts of electrical power — within the next month or two.
