Fremont—Ohlone College will hold its second Out of the Darkness Campus Walk on Tuesday to raise awareness about depression and suicide.

More than 150 faculty, staff and students walked last year in memory of former campus security guard Stewart Dawson, who committed suicide in 2010.

This year, Dawson's mother, sister and 1-year-old nephew will take part.

There is no cost to participate. Organizers will provide each registrant with a web page to help with fundraising efforts, and they hope to raise $3,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Last year's walk raised $2,500.

The walk will be at the college's Fremont campus, 43600 Mission Blvd. Check-in will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the walk at noon and a closing ceremony at 1 p.m.
