Ohlone College hosts Community College Chancellor Mark Drummond

Fremont, CA—Chancellor Mark Drummond will be hosted by Ohlone College next month as part of a drive to visit various community colleges in the state and meet with college CEOs. Chancellor Drummond will begin his visit with an open forum for Ohlone students, faculty and staff including discussion and questions. Ohlone President Doug Treadway will conduct the Chancellor on a tour of the Ohlone College Newark Center for Health Sciences and Technology to learn about the environmental sustainability features of the building, which will make the Newark Center the first green community college campus in the nation. He will later have lunch with members of the Chancellor’s Circle of Business Representatives in this area. Chancellor Drummond will be accompanied by Ian Walton, State Academic Senate President, and Scott Lay, President and CEO of the Community College League of California.

The Chancellor oversees the 109 community colleges in the state and serves as an advocate to state leadership for the higher education benefits of the California community college system.
