TOPIC: Global Environmental Sustainability: The Natural Step Approach
SPEAKER: Dr. George Basile
Announcing the Ohlone College World Forum 2005/06: Global Environmental Sustainability, the Natural Step Approach. Dr. George Basile discusses the integration of green building and green practices in U.S. businesses and worldwide trends in sustainability.
The Forum is held in the Epler Gymnasium (Building 9) from 12:00pm (noon) to 1:00pm for Dr. Basiles's speech. A Question and Answer session will be held afterwards from 1 to 2pm. The public is invited.
Dr. George Basile advises Fortune 500 companies and other organizations on how to integrate sustainability into near and long-term strategies, working with senior teams from FedEx Kinko’s, the Home Depot, McDonald's, and the Bank of America. He has presented widely to the public and to expert audiences such as the National Research Council at the National Academy of Sciences.
Basile received his undergraduate training in Physics at the University of California, Irvine and his doctorate in Biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley.
The Ohlone College World Forum series is intended to encourage college personnel and the community to take up the work of increasing understanding and working toward the goal of healing our planet. The worldwide occurrences taking place daily require persistence in order to make a difference. Such involvement from individuals, organizations and communities has never been more ncessary.
