Dr. Ralph Kindred
Fremont, CA – Dr. Ralph Kindred JD, MBA joins Ohlone Community College District as the new Associate Vice-President of Information Technology. The position is newly created to manage information systems at the college and to maintain a competitive advantage in technology for the academic departments.
Dr. Kindred has five years experience in higher education in Information Technology and Computer Studies at Las Positas Community College in Livermore. In addition, his expertise includes over 20 years of international business and IT experience across multiple industries. He has served in senior IT management positions in the following industries: Telecommunications, Finance, Manufacturing, Entertainment, and Consulting. His areas of expertise include business and technology, strategic planning, business process reengineering, organizational analysis, project management, contract management and negotiation, organizational leadership, information systems planning, and implementation. He received his Juris Doctorate from the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento and his MBA from the University of San Francisco.
In addition to his role as technology leader, Dr. Kindred is also an adjunct professor with the University of San Francisco’ Graduate College of Professional studies, where he teaches: Economics for IS Managers, IT Policy and Strategy, Information Technology Ethics and Social Issues, High-Technology Marketing, Information Systems for the 21st Century, and Global Information Technology.
When not working or teaching, Dr. Kindred maintains a high level of commitment to community economic and social development issues. This commitment has been demonstrated over the years by his active participation with the following groups and organizations: INROADS, Leadership Pleasanton, Paratransit Inc. Board of Directors, Sacramento Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Board of Directors, Sacramento Transportation & Air Quality Collaborative, Capitol Policy Forum, Rotary International, and Oakes Children's Center, Board of Directors.
