Ohlone College World Forum

Fremont, CA—

  • TOPIC: The Israeli/Palestinian Conflict
  • SPEAKER: Dr. Noel Kaplowitz, UC Davis

Noel Kaplowitz received his Ph.D. from Columbia University in Political Science and International Advancement and did postdoctoral work at Yale in Political Psychology. He has taught International Advancement and Middle East Affairs at Berkeley, UCLA, and UC Davis.

Dr. Kaplowitz's research includes hundreds of hours of in-depth interviewing with Arab and Israeli leaders and officials on their national self-images, perceptions of the other, and attitudes towards issues in conflict. His articles on the "Arab-Israeli Conflict" and on "Cultural and Psychological Dimensions of International Advancement" have been published in a variety of professional, peer-reviewed journals.

This is the second half to a previous World Forum that was presented by speaker Dr. Hatem Bazian of UC Berkeley on the Palestinian perspective.
