Fremont, CA—Best known for his fiery solo on Chuck Mangione’s “Feels So Good,” Guitarist Grant Geissman’s musical prowess is much recognized throughout the jazz and pop communities. His reputation has made him a much in-demand studio musician, recording with such artists as Quincy Jones, David Benoit, Burt Bacharach and Elvis Costello, Paula Abdul, Ringo Starr, John Tesh, Keiko Matsui, Van Dyke Parks, Brian Wilson, Placido Domingo, Luis Miguel, and Julio Iglesias.
Though Geissman is often asked to record on compilation albums, his solo contemporary jazz recordings have also garnered much fanfare, reaching the top 10 on national airplay charts. With musical influences from George Harrison and Eric Clapton to B.B. King and Wes Montgomery, Geissman’s previous albums have allowed him to test the waters with Latin jazz, funk, and blues. Refusing to let his music be pigeonholed as smooth jazz, his latest album Say That! defiantly declares to smooth jazz radio, “I dare you to play this!”
He has also played on the scores for such TV shows as Two and a Half Men, Dawson’s Cree, Touched by an Angel, Boy Meets World, and Family Affair, as well as on movies like Austin Powers/The Spy Who Shagged Me, The Cable Guy, My Dog Skip, Tomb Raider II, Private Parts, Star Trek: Resurrection, The Majestic, and Anaconda.
