“Call to Duty” 4th of July Concert
Fremont, CA—Join us for an exciting musical tribute to the 4th of July on Tuesday, July 4 at 7:30pm at the Smith Center Amphitheatre at Ohlone College. This free outdoor concert features the 91st Division Band complete with bagpipes. Come early and enjoy your own picnic supper on the beautiful hillside campus before settling down to a rousing concert under the stars. Celebrate 230 years of the armed forces who have answered the “call to duty” to protect and serve our nation.
The 91st Division Band has a proud history of performing at various social functions, such as parades and war bond drives. The Band is also used to boost morale among the troops at a moment’s notice, performing during weekend drills, Annual Training, and even near front lines during war. In addition to the traditional brass, woodwind and percussion sections, the 91st Division Band is distinctive in that it also features a bagpipe section. The only other Army band in the United States with a bagpipe group is at West Point Military Academy.
