Thoroughly Modern Millie

Fremont, CA—Ohlone College Summerfest plays host to the Star Struck Theatre for the second musical theatre performance this summer. Star Struck performs Thoroughly Modern Millie, the musical that won six Tony awards during its Broadway production in 2002. Star Struck is the first group in the bay area to perform this musical.

The story is set in 1922 in New York . It focuses on the character of Millie Dillmount who has recently moved to New York in search of a new life from a small town in Kansas . When her ambitions are challenged by the rough city, Millie has to struggle to leave her mark.

The production brings talented, youthful artists from all over the bay area to Ohlone College to perform. Featured roles in the musical are played by Evan Boomer of Fremont, Melissa Modifer of San Leandro and Sabrina Habel of San Francisco . Attend Ohlone College’s Summerfest to see this intriguing look at life for women in the early 1920’s.
