Fremont, CA—Please join Ohlone College students, faculty and the community to hear Consul General of Mexico address the essential topic of U.S. and Mexican Advancement. The issue has been under discussion for several months as questions regarding immigration status and reform have surfaced. El Lic. Maria y Campos has a vast amount of experience to bring to the topic and help inform our community on the subject.
Biographical Information: President Vincente Fox appointed Alfonso de Maria y Campos to serve as Consul General of Mexico in 2004, located in San Francisco. This position is the latest in his extensive career in government and Foreign Service for Mexico that began in 1985. Recent positions prior to this include Director General of North America and Commissioner of the National Council on Arts and Culture. El Lic. Maria y Campos pursued his doctoral studies at Oxford University in English, French and Italian from 1975 to 1977. He has taught history at the National University of Mexico and economics at Institute of Technology of Mexico (I.T.A.M.). He is the author of several articles and books.
