Sung in Italian with English subtitles, Madame Butterfly is a high-definition film version of a live production by the San Francisco Opera, with full scenery , staging and costumes.

Donald Runnicles conducts the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus in this stirring production that features some of Puccini’s most popular music. Running time is two hours and forty minutes with one intermission. During the intermission, the film production includes a behind-the-scenes interview.

Fremont Opera Music Director David Sloss will present a pre-performance lecture starting at 7:45 p.m., included in the ticket price. Wine and cheese will be available before the production at an additional cost.
