“Welcome Day” Preps New Students for College

Welcome Day participants eat lunch in the Palm Bosque.Fremont, CA—Welcome Day, a one-day ½ credit unit class at Ohlone College, gives new students the readiness tools they need to succeed in college. Incoming freshmen often have a difficult time dealing with the transition to college because they haven’t acquired the skills to handle a less structured environment, including setting priorities, managing time, negotiating schedules and completing courses to make forward progress. Welcome Day helps students get ready for college life, start making new friends, and helps them chart a course for success in college. Welcome Day is an orientation course that includes fun, informative workshops and activities for new students attending Ohlone College in the fall 2010 semester. This is a great opportunity to learn about Ohlone College, meet professors, counselors, fellow students, and gain valuable life skills.

Students must enroll in this 1/2 unit class in order to attend. Register online through WebAdvisor. Enroll in Personal Development (PD) 170, synonym #047247.
