San Francisco Opera’s Madame Butterfly on the Silver Screen

Fremont, CA—One of the world’s most beloved and dramatic operas, Madame Butterfly is a classic tale of conflicted hearts and colliding cultures set in nineteenth-century Japan. For a special one-time encore presentation, San Francisco Opera’s adored Madame Butterfly will be shown on the silver screen inside the Smith Center at Ohlone College on Saturday, August 28 at 2pm.

Sung in Italian with English subtitles, Madame Butterfly is a high-definition film version of a live production by the San Francisco Opera with full scenery, staging and costumes.
