This yoga and Pilates fusion course will focus on combining classical beginner and intermediate yoga postures with core strengthening exercises from Pilates. Alignment principles, breathing techniques, standing, seated and lying postures, along with passive release of muscle tension through supported restorative postures will be taught in this class.
Students will learn:
- Emphasis on deepening awareness of the body and understanding of alignment principles
- How to strengthen the foundation of their practice by learning the entire series of beginner poses, as well as some intermediate poses
- How to improve basic body mechanics to adjust posture and reduce injury
