Counseling Window

On the Fremont campus, you can stop by the Counseling Window (Building 1, First Floor, off the front lobby) to make an appointment to see a counselor or arrange a drop-in session.

On the Newark campus, stop by the Student Services Center (Room 1312) to make an appointment to see a counselor or arrange a drop-in session.

Appointments

As counselors, we are concerned with the academic success of our students and wish to provide the highest quality services as possible. Because transfer requirements and regulations can change from semester to semester, we feel students are best served by regular and consistent appointments with a counselor. We find that many students not only change their academic goals often but also experience some type of educational difficulties or stress, which may affect academic performance. For these reasons, we recommend that you schedule at least two appointments per semester with a counselor so that we may review your educational and career goals as well as get to know you on a more individual basis. Drop-in Sessions

Since these 10-minute sessions are necessarily limited, it is best to use drop-in for quick questions. Waivers and petitions can be completed as drop-ins, provided you have all the necessary documentation. More about drop-in sessions...

These hours may vary. It's best to call the Counseling Department at (510) 659-6110 (Fremont) or (510) 742-2340 (Newark) or come to the Counseling Window and receive current schedule. Please note that during peak registration periods, you may experience long delays in seeing a counselor.

Additional drop-in hours are available Monday through Thursday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at the beginning of the semester.
