All About Progress Probation (page 3)

What Are the Negative Consequences of Progress Probation?

  • After enrolling in a course twice and not passing (including Ws), you are blocked for ALL future attempts to register for that course
  • Student loses money – $46 per unit is about $138 per course – and even more if you bought the book(s)
  • College loses money – less state reimbursement (our income is based on enrollment)
  • Unfair to students who need to enroll in those courses, especially necessary courses like math and english
  • May affect transfer admissions to competitive schools
  • Slows down your progress toward goals
