Ø Math presentation - (Ron Staszkow, Bob Bradshaw, Jeff O’Connell)
Jeff O’Connell presented the Math departments program review. Jeff O’Connell gave a handout to the committee on the information that was presented. Questions were asked on how many student learning outcomes there should be. There should be less than ten, between four to six outcomes. Deb Parziale recommended the use of Bloom’s Taxonomy to help make outcomes more measurable.
Rob Smedfjeld presented his data templates that he is doing for each department. If departments need additional information they can contact him. In Datamart, information is listed by TOPs Codes. Datamart is located on the Community College Chancellor’s website. The information Rob presented he obtained from Datamart and Datatel. The question was brought up if we should show the TOPs Code on the Word Report for courses.
