Grounds Services - Facilities Department

The Grounds staff is responsible for maintaining the campus grounds to provide students, faculty and staff with an aesthetically pleasing and safe place in which to learn and work.

The Ohlone College Grounds staff is responsible for, to include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Athletic Field Maintenance
  • Landscaping
  • Planting
  • Mowing
  • Fertilizing
  • Watering of trees, shrubs, lawns, and athletic fields
  • Cleaning and repair of campus roadways, walks, parking lots and storm drains
  • Pest Control
  • Refuse collection
  • Composting
  • Emergency tree removal and pruning

Drought Plan

Ohlone College Grounds is in the process of updating the drought resistant plan for both Fremont and Newark Campus. Ohlone Facilities know the concerns with the drought during the last few years in California. Part of the process is striving to install more drought resistant plants and improving on our water system usage. For example with the new athletic fields moved from grass to artificial turf.
