Discussion of Standards II.A.6.b. re:  Program Discontinuance

Ohlone has no procedures.  Susan and Jim looked to other colleges to see what procedures other colleges are following.  From that, Susan drafted procedures we might follow, taken from several colleges.  (Summary of Handout)

When previous Ohlone programs were eliminated, faculty senate was involved, hearings held, consultations, board hearings, notification, etc. and arrangements were instituted that helped students impacted by the program elimination.  Although no formal written procedures existed, it is recommended that such procedures be devised.  It is the Senate’s responsibility to propose procedures for approval by the president.

Notify Susan of any other needed changes.  Will be brought back to the Senate for review and approval.
