Annual Benefit Luncheon

2005 Citizen of the Year
The 18th Annual Citizen of the Year Luncheon honored Rick Geha for his outstanding contributions to the Tri-Cities community.
It is our pleasure to honor Rick Geha for his “Commitment to Excellence” and announce him as our 2005 Citizen of the Year. Rick has established himself as a realtor par excellence with his team at Keller Williams Realty and as a pillar of this community. As a businessman, he is a leader among Bay Area realtors
and a mentor in the real estate business. As a neighbor and friend, Rick dedicates himself to children and education by serving on the Board of Directors for Kidango and as the President of the Ohlone College Foundation Board. Rick Geha is widely praised for his knowledge, integrity, warmth and generosity.
Local businessman, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and charming Master of Ceremonies, Rick Geha, is being honored for the many years of service rendered to the community and for eight years serving as President of the Ohlone College Foundation Board of Directors. Rick quips that “every time I miss a board meeting, I get re-elected for another year.”
Sponsored by the Ohlone College Foundation.
The Citizen of the Year Benefit Luncheon highlights the important role the College plays in the Tri-City region. It is the largest fundraising event for the Ohlone College Foundation providing funds for scholarships, grants, and college programs. It has developed into a well-attended event, which hosts a sell-out crowd of over 400 attendees. This year, the Hilton Newark/Fremont will be transformed into a Hawaiian Island, as guests dine on a sumptuous Hawaiian luncheon with entertainment provided by a renowned Polynesian dance troupe and musicians. It is without question one of the most recognizable events in the community!

“Citizen Scholar Awards”
For the past 17 years, the Ohlone College Foundation has had the privilege of joining the community together to recognize a person or organization within the Tri-Cities who has looked beyond them self to better the lives of those surrounding them. They are friends, advocates and partners who give tirelessly to the community and ask nothing in return. They are our Citizens of the Year. It is in this spirit of giving that the Ohlone College Foundation will offer several very special scholarships totaling $5,000 to Ohlone students who exhibit dedication to their academic success while also demonstrating community and campus involvement. These students will be the Ohlone College Foundation Citizen Scholars!
Citizen Scholarship offerings are:
- The Don & Babs Amsbaugh Award for Health Science (in honor of the 2004 Citizens of the Year)
