Buy A Brick, Build the Future - Ohlone College Foundation

Bricks are available in three sizes:

All text will be in upper and lower case. Any letter, number or symbol key on a keyboard is available. The font will look like this:

Special characters or “Wing Dings”: These are available at an additional charge of $10 each. See the list of wing dings available. The number of characters included in your inscription will be affected, depending on the size or number of wing dings used. Please contact the Ohlone College Foundation for additional information.

Logos or Insignia: Your company or organization may wish to include a logo, insignia or other graphic element as part of your inscription. The size of your logo will affect the amount of text that can be inscribed on your brick. For this reason, we do not recommend logos on the 4” x 8” brick. You must provide the artwork for your logo, preferably in EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) or AI (Adobe Illustrator) format. For information on other formats, please contact the Ohlone College Foundation. Because of the additional time required to set up and engrave a logo, there is an additional fee of $75.

Donor Information: Your brick will be inscribed after payment is received. Bricks will be placed on the Pathway to Progress beginning January 7, 2008 in order to be ready for the Grand Opening on January 28th. In order to have your brick in place by the opening of the Center, your order must be paid for by December 10, 2007. We will do all we can to accommodate orders received after that date. After the Grand Opening, engraved bricks will be placed in batches on a quarterly basis.

A map will be provided so donors can locate their inscribed brick(s). Donors will receive a certificate for their donation.

Your donation is deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS. Your certificate will serve as your receipt. The Ohlone College Foundation Tax ID Number is 77-0136497.

Donors may purchase more than one brick.

Ohlone College reserves the right to approve all inscriptions.

Corporate and Community Sponsored Bricks

Exclusive Opportunity for Ohlone’s Business, Corporate and Community Partners

Ohlone College is offering a limited release of 30 large custom engraved paving stones to our corporate and community partners. 

Each paving stone is 24” x 24”, a Limestone Gray Prest® Tudor® finish paver from Hanover Architectural Products® in Pennsylvania. The paving stones are available for $5000 each.

The options for engraving your stone are almost limitless.  We can custom engrave your logo and message according to your specifications.  We will work with you to be sure that you will see and approve your stone before doing the engraving.

Questions and Answers about the Pathway to Progress Program

Q. Am I buying a real brick?

Not really. You are actually buying a special paver manufactured by Hanover of Pennsylvania. These pavers are limestone gray in color and will provide a beautiful entry plaza to the campus.

Q. How is my name placed on the brick?

The wording you provide is sandblasted into the brick and coated with a special epoxy that will last forever!

Q. Can I put anything I want on the brick?

Now don’t make us censor you! Generally anything in good taste will be accepted. We reserve the right to approve all inscriptions.

Q. Can I buy more than one brick?

Absolutely! You might want to use the bricks to honor family members or friends, memorialize a loved one, commemorate an event, etc. A brick makes the perfect gift for the “person who has everything!”

Q. Can I buy a several bricks and have them clustered together?

Yes. Families, companies or clubs might all want to buy bricks together.

Q. How will the money raised from the brick sales be spent?

All money raised from the “Pathway to Progress” program will be used as part of the budget to furnish and equip the new campus and will directly benefit our students.

Q. Can I put a symbol (“wingding”) on a brick?

Q. What about a logo?

User-provided logos (businesses, service clubs, etc.) may be placed on a brick if provided in the proper format. Please check for further details on the website or call the Ohlone College Foundation at (510) 659-6020 for more information. There may be space restrictions on the 4” x 8” brick.
