To celebrate the opening of the Ohlone College Newark Center for Health Sciences and Technology, in 2008 Ohlone College Foundation is sponsoring the Green Tie Gala in lieu of a Citizen of the Year Benefit Luncheon. The annual Luncheon will continue in 2009.

The Citizen of the Year Benefit Luncheon highlights the important role the College plays in the Tri-City region. It is the largest fundraising event for the Ohlone College Foundation providing funds for scholarships, grants, and college programs. It has developed into a well-attended event, which hosts a sell-out crowd of over 400 attendees. It is without question one of the most recognizable events in the community!
