Scholarship Spotlight Spring 2011 - Ohlone College Foundation

Regina Lynn Izquierdo
- Cargill Scholarship
- Jones Hamilton Co. Chemistry and Engineering Scholarship
Every person is dealt a different hand, and therefore made to face different obstacles in life. But every person is equally given 24 hours each day, and the choices they make within those hours are what shapes and determines their future. Attending college is the most valuable use of time right now for me because a strong foundation of skills and knowledge will help towards a career in Biomedical Engineering. What I wish to get out of college is to be able to apply my acquired knowledge to become a successful engineer and a role model for the next generations.
Being a recipient of this scholarship will help me take the required courses for my major, as well as purchase the necessary supplies (programs, books, lab supplies) for them. It will be a push of encouragement to help me continue on my path to a career in Engineering. It will also allow me to be able to participate in more field trips for clubs, and help to pay my dues for honor society clubs I want to join. I am currently enrolled in 6 classes this semester. This scholarship will help me better my future.
