Guests: General Information - Ohlone College Forty-Ninth Annual Graduation Ceremony

  • The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00pm on Friday, May 20, 2016 in the Epler Gymnasium (Room 9202, Building 9, second floor) (Fremont Campus Map). Guests should plan to arrive by 6:00pm to get a good seat, as seats will start to fill up quickly after 6:00pm. The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00pm. Guests who arrive late will be asked to wait outside the gym until after the processional.

  • Graduates are required to buy a gown, cap and tassel package no later than Friday, May 6, 2016. When graduates purchase their regalia bundle, they will receive an information packet and 4 guest tickets. All guests must have a ticket to attend the ceremony. The exception is children under 3 years of age who will not require a ticket but will need to sit on an adult’s lap during the ceremony.

  • Guests without a ticket have the option of viewing the ceremony in the Jackson Theatre in the Smith Center or watching the ceremony on a computer, tablet or smartphone. Jackson Theatre tickets will be available at the will-call table located off the second level of the parking structure.     The graduation ceremony will also be available for viewing from home via computer, smartphone or tablet.

  • Please be considerate of other guests if you are bringing balloons or other items that may block other guests’ view of the ceremony.

  • Cell phones and pagers must be turned off (or silenced) during the ceremony.

  • Please remain in the stands throughout the ceremony.

  • The ceremony will end at approximately 8:30pm.

  • There will be a Graduation Reception at the Promenade by Building 7 immediately following the ceremony.

  • Family and friends may take personal pictures on the platform after everyone is out of the gym. Please do not crowd the aisles before, during, or after the ceremony.

  • Ohlone College graduation is a public event. As such, participating in or attending these proceedings gives permission to Ohlone College or any media to take and use your photograph for publicity, marketing or news purposes.

  • Please dress appropriately; the gym can get quite warm and stuffy.

  • Children are welcome, but due to space and safety constraints, we do not allow strollers in the gymnasium. There will be a stroller parking lot outside the gym.
