Position

  • Under the direction of the Head Women’s Basketball Coach,  perform all duties normally expected of a community college assistant coach including the following:
    • Recruitment of players; supervision of practices, games and travel; assist in hiring student managers, maintain positive relationships with all feeder programs; conduct fundraising activities, adhere to district, conference and CCCAA regulations
    • Additional opportunity available to work within the community education department for fee based assignments.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

Masters Degree in Physical Education or related field with two years of collegiate basketball coaching.

Or

BA Degree and two years basketball coaching experience OR AA Degree and six years basketball coaching experience

AND

Evidence of sensitive to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Essential Function

  •  Responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Coach.
  • Updates the Statistics in board in the team after every game.
  • Can hold a pad in practice for the post players and challenge them to make a basket under pressure/contact.
  • Can participate in running drills/be in conditioned shape to play against the players if needed for a drill.
  • Assists with scouting and recruitment of student-athletes.
  • Assists the Head Coach in finalizing all arrangements for home contests, including court preparation and personnel.
  • Coordinates special needs for home contest (visiting team practices, etc.)
  • Submits transportation requests and required travel documentation to the Athletic Director as required.
  • Subscribes and adheres to the CCCAA Coaches Code of Conduct.
  • Attend all Non Traditional Scrimmages/home games/tournaments/and away games
