Sleep Your Way to a Better, Healthier You

Sleep, like nutrition, is a critical factor of health and well-being. As a society, we place very little value on sleep and in our busy, fast paced lives; sleep can feel like a pesky, time-consuming nuisance. As a result, Americans are chronically sleep-deprived.

In this workshop, participants will learn that by obtaining adequate sleep and treating sleep disorders:

  • You can improve health
  • You can improve productivity
  • You can improve your quality of life
  • You can integrate healthy sleep habits into your life
  • You will be able to recognize risk factors and symptoms of Insomnia and Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Lockout/Tagout Training

Obey Lockout/Tagout - Protect your coworkers.

In this workshop, participants will learn to:

  1. Determine the difference between Authorized and Affected Employees.
  2. Discuss the responsibilities of Authorized and Affected Employees.
  3. Determine when and how to apply lockout / tagout hardware.
  4. Describe the procedure.

Safety Inspection Workshop

Safety Signs: Caution, Danger, Warning, Notice, Safety

In this workshop, participants will learn:

  1. How to conduct effective safety inspection per Ohlone’s IIPP instructions
  2. Learn how to assign a risk code
  3. Learn common sense approach to potential hazard identification

Brown Bag Seminar: Date Rape and Sexual Assault

Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act - Campus SAVE Act.

Facilitated by Chief Steve Osawa and Officer Ben Peralta, Campus Police Services / Safety and Security.

Under the Campus SAVE Act, most higher education institutions—including community colleges and vocational schools—must educate students, faculty, and staff on the prevention of rape, acquaintance rape, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
