Well summer is coming, and so is Ohlone for Kids! Our online enrollment system began March 31st and is still available for registration today! Many classes are still available for children to come and enjoy the Ohlone for Kids enrichment program.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
- Waiting Lists: Please do not enroll children on waiting lists. OFK waiting lists do not open up as class drops are very, very rare. Instead, enroll children into alternative scheduling options so that each child is guaranteed a full day of supervised instruction.
- Enroll children into recommended classes based on the grade level each will enter in the fall of 2008.
- Children are supervised between classes and during lunch.
- Classes in Session I and II are repeated and not sequential.
- Catalogs are available on the Ohlone Campus, online and at public libraries in Fremont, Newark, and Pleasanton as well as at Washington Hospital, and Mission Coffee.

Classroom Assignments
Ohlone for Kids is proud to host classes at two locations again this year. Our first location will be on the Ohlone College campus in Fremont located at 43600 Mission Boulevard. Our other location will be at Newark Memorial High School located at 39375 Cedar Street in Newark.
Room assignments have been created for all sessions and are available for you to download today. Click on the appropriate campus below for a complete list of room assignments. Note: All session III classes are on the Ohlone campus in Fremont.
Classes begin in June 30th and end on July 31st.
- Session I: June 30 to July 10
- Session II: July 14 to July 24
- Session III: July 28 to July 31
New classes at OFK 2008 this year will feature:
- The Writer’s Workshop—a sure way to add excitement and precision to writing and composition.
- Advanced Algebra & Introduction to Geometry—an excellent prep to advanced math, perfect for college bound students, and SAT/PSAT test takers!
- Digital Animation with Photoshop and iMovie—a great introduction to video production for kids of all ages.
- Chess Skills and Tournament Play—designed for beginners and accomplished players.
- Biology Extravaganza—this class will feature two dissection projects!
- Summer Swim—this class is sure to make a splash, so be sure to bring your swimming suits, towels, and goggles (at NMHS only).
- After Hours—an extended program lasting from 3:45 to 5:00.
Also returning to OFK for 2008 are other great classes including: SAT/PSAT Prep, Power Speech, LEGO© Robotics, Ooey-gooey Chemistry, Cartooning, Taiko Drumming, and Power Academies.

2008 Drawing Contest: Updates and Information
Contest Prizes
One first place winner will be awarded with four (4) complimentary summer classes and will be featured as the cover page on the 2008 catalog and on the Ohlone for Kids website. Second and third places will be awarded two (2) complimentary summer classes and will receive honorable mention and featured on the OFK website. Prizes are not transferable and may only be used during the 2008 summer program..
Tips for Registration
- Ohlone for Kids classes, unless stated in the catalog, repeat from Session I to Session II. Parents should not enroll children in the same class during both sessions.
- Classes fill quickly. Parents are encouraged to enroll for classes early to avoid missing opportunities for summer activities.
- Ohlone for Kids classes are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
