President's Welcome Message

Dear Students and Community:

For 40 years Ohlone College has been serving Tri-city residents by offering high quality education programs to suit the needs of the community. From our small beginning at the Serra Center for Girls on Washington Boulevard in 1967, to the opening of the Fremont campus at its current location on Mission Boulevard in 1974, to our first offering of classes at Newark in 1991, we have continued to offer higher education opportunities to the community when and where it is needed.

We opened our second campus, the Ohlone College Newark Center for Health Sciences and Technology, on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the start of Spring 2008 classes. The Newark Center offers the finest green building techniques and sustainable energy processes available and will be a prominent feature for the city. We look forward to celebrating the opening of this landmark building with the community!

Thank you,

Doug Treadway, Ph.D.

Ohlone Community College District
