Making the College Adjustment - Online Orientation
University Express
University Express unique and exciting program for students interested in transferring to a 4-year college or university after attending Ohlone. It is ideal for students who are undecided on a major as there will be a counseling course that students take which covers information about careers and deciding on a major.
Each UE community has thirty students enrolled together in three or four courses (see Cohorts and Classes). Some courses meet General Education or basic skills requirements necessary for transferring to most 4-year colleges, including the UCs and CSUs. * One course is specifically designed to help students be successful in college and establish their transfer plans. Students are also encouraged (but not required) to enroll in a math class based on their specific math placement test results.
Here are some benefits of the program:
- This program is perfect for students who are unsure of what classes to take or are undecided on a major but know they want to transfer. Your first semester courses have already been selected for you!
- You are guaranteed enrollment in all classes (except math which you must self-enroll).
- You will develop close relationships with your peers in University Express because you will be taking the courses together.
- Faculty will be working together to ensure your success.
- You will satisfy four General Education or basic skills requirements in just your first semester.
Once you and your counselor agree that UE is a right fit, enroll via WebAdvisor for all of the classes listed in the learning community. All of the classes are linked, so if you forget to enroll in one, the computer will give you an error message.
