Peer Mentors for Spring 2010

I am Michelle Hall, a Senior Peer Mentor. I am in my second year at Ohlone College. I will be transferring in Fall 2010 to complete my degree in English. I hope to go to school in Southern California. When I have free time, I like to be with my family and friends--whether it be watching a movie at home or going out to the city. My favorite poem is "The Rose that Grew From Concrete" by Tupac Shakur.

Hello my name is Natale Seybold, and this is my second year at Ohlone. I plan to get my degree in Speech Communications at Ohlone and then transfer to San Francisco State University in fall 2011. I love to reach out to new students and help them achieve their goals. I enjoy music, reading, volunteer work, and being with friends and family.

My name is Teagan Strong, and I have been a Peer Mentor since Spring 2009. I came to Ohlone after graduating from Newark Memorial High School class of 2008 and Fremont Beauty College. I hope to transfer to the University of San Francisco in Fall 2011. My current major is English. In my free time I like to bake and relax with a good book.

My name is Monty Virdi. I graduated from Newark Memorial High School in the class of 2008. I am also certified from the Fremont Beauty College as a Cosmetologist. I plan to transfer from Ohlone College in the year 2011. My top choice of the school I would like to attend is University of San Francisco with a major in Sociology. My hobbies include diving into a good book, cooking, and hanging out with the people I love.

Hello my name is Emran Alamshahi. This is my second year at Ohlone, and I plan to transfer to UC Davis in Spring 2011 with a major in biology. My goal at Ohlone is to help the community and support new students that need help getting started. Some of my hobbies are volunteering in San Francisco and Berkeley and playing basketball in my spare time.

I am Daphne Pyone. I was born in Myanmar located in South East Asia and of course, I speak Burmese. English is my second language. Ohlone is my first school in United States after graduating high school in my home country. I am intending to major in bioengineering. I love to do handcrafts, travel, read books and play piano.

My name is Tran Tran. I have been at Ohlone for two and a half years, majoring in Business Administration. I love swimming and reading books in my free time. My favorite cartoon is Finding Nemo. My favorite quote is: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts,” by Sir Winston Churchill.
