ESL Placement Test
Important Information for those who decide to take the ESL Placement Test:

You must complete an Ohlone College Admissions application and receive your Ohlone ID number before testing! Submit an online application.

Bring your Ohlone College Student ID number. You will receive your ID number by email after you submit your application. If you have not received your ID number, email the Admissions Office at admissions@ohlone.edu. You will not be allowed to take the test without an Ohlone ID Number.
- Bring a photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
ESL Test Reservations: Summer/Fall 2008
Students must make online reservations for test. Students can only reserve one ESL Placement Test per semester. You must know your Ohlone College ID number and have a valid email address to make a reservation. Space is limited and reservations are made on a first come, first served basis.
Tests are held in 1405A, Building 1, Fourth Floor (exceptions will be noted below). The following test dates are available:
- July 15, Tuesday at 1 pm
- August 12, Tuesday at 9 am
- August 19, Tuesday at 1 pm
- August 23, Saturday at 9 am
- September 2, Tuesday at 9 am

ESL placement tests includes an orientation: 3 hours for testing and 1 ½ hours for orientation.

The entire testing/orientation process will take approximately 4 ½ hours to complete. Students are expected to stay for the whole process.

If you plan on also taking the math test, you will need to come at a separate scheduled time. Math Placement Test Schedules.

Testing is offered free of charge.

Counselors will be at the orientation to help students select their classes.

Please check the Admission Information in the current Class Schedule regarding documents that you should bring to verify your citizenship status and California residency status.

No study guides, calculators, dictionaries, or other study aids are allowed during the test.

Arrive at least 15 minutes early for the tests.

Late students are NOT ADMITTED. Sorry, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

You are encouraged to bring food and drinks for the break.
