Facility Rental / Civic Center - Ohlone Community College District

“There is a civic center at each and every community college within the state where the citizens… and associations may engage in supervised recreational activities, and where they may meet and discuss, from time to time, as they may desire, any subjects and questions which in their judgment appertain to the educational, political, economic, artistic, and moral interests of the citizens of the communities in which they reside.”

The Facility Rental/Civic Center Office is responsible for arranging rentals of Ohlone Community College District facilities and coordinating those rentals with various campus services (custodial, grounds, athletic, food, and campus police), as needed. 

Community groups and athletic organizations are encouraged to use our campuses to promote public, literary, scientific, recreational, educational, or public agency meetings, or for the discussion of matters of general or public interest  and supervised recreational activities.

Public transportation is available at both campuses with direct service to and from the Fremont BART station.

Fremont Campus

The Smith Center's Jackson Theatre has stadium seating.The Fremont campus features a 405-seat performing arts center, one of the largest swimming pools in the Bay Area, a 100-seat studio theater, an open-air amphitheater, and 4 stadium seating presentation halls.  The gymnasium and dinning halls are available for large gatherings.

Ohlone College also has other comprehensive fitness and athletic facilities, including, a dance studio, music rooms, baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, and soccer field.

Newark Center for Health Sciences and Technology

Facility Rental Information

The Ohlone Community College District has facilities available for special events or corporate meetings.

Members of the public or public groups who would like to use campus buildings or outdoor areas may obtain a Facility Rental Application Form from the Facility Rental Office in Room 1205 (Building 1, second floor), Fremont campus, or a Facility Rental Application Form can be downloaded.  

Staff, faculty and student clubs wishing to use facilities, must contact the Curriculum and Scheduling Office.

Please allow at least three (3) weeks to process your request. Applications received for the following semester will be held for processing until the schedule of classes for that semester has been published to avoid conflicts with college academic programs.
