- There is no free parking at any of the Ohlone Community College District campuses.
- There is no grace period during the first few weeks of each semester. Parking rules are enfored from the first day of each semester through the last.
Under state law (Education Code 72247) all parking on a community college campus is subject to payment of a specified fee. It is a privilege extended by the Board of Trustees to the faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

Parking is permitted only in designed areas and parking stalls. Vehicles that are illegally parked and/or parked without a parking permit may be cited or towed. All parking rules are enforced during instructional periods and on weekends when special events or classes are being held.
Parking Hours
Parking permits are required:
- Monday-Friday: 7:00am - 11:00pm
- Saturday: 7:00am - 5:00pm
Free parking on campus:

- All day Sundays

Semester Parking Permits
Student Semester Parking Permits may be purchased in the Ohlone College Bookstore for each semester (non-refundable):
- Fall Semester: $35.00 per vehicle; $18.00 per motorcycle
- Spring Semester: $35.00 per vehicle; $18.00 per motorcycle
- Summer Term: $20.00 per vehicle; $10.00 per motorcycle
Student Semester Parking Permits:
- are valid for both the Fremont and Newark Center campuses
- must be hung face-forward from the rear-view mirror for traffic enforcement personnel viewing
Fremont Campus
Student Semester Parking Permits allow students to park in Student Parking Lots C, D, E, G, H, and K on the Fremont campus. Students must purchase a Daily Parking Permit to park in Lot M, N, O, and P. A Student Semester Parking Permit is not valid to park in any of the upper parking lots M, N, O, or P. Fremont Campus Map.
Daily Parking Permits allow students to park in Student Parking Lots C, D, E, G, H, K, M, N, O, and P. Students must purchase a Daily Parking Permit to park in Lots M, N, O, and P.
Lot N is restricted to carpool, disabled parking, and coin-operated meter parking.
Staff Lot B
After 5:00pm, students and visitors may park in Staff Lot B next to Hyman Hall on Mondays through Fridays and on Saturdays. Students must display a valid Student Semester Parking Permit or valid Daily Parking Permit. Visitors must display a valid Daily Parking Permit.
Newark Center Campus
Valid Student Semester Parking Permits allow students to park anywhere in Lots A, B, C, or D except those spaces designated as Administration or as Police/Emergency Vehicle. Newark Center Campus Map.
Valid Student Semester Parking Permits are valid for both the Fremont and Newark campuses.

Administration and Police/Emergency Marked Spaces
Students, staff, and visitors may not park in spaces designated as Administration or as Police/Emergency Vehicle without authorization.
Daily Parking Permits
A Daily Parking Permit must be purchased for $2.00 (8 quarters recommended, although the Intella-pay machines will accept exact change in dollar bills, nickels, dimes, quarters) by visitors, guests, and students without a valid Semester Parking Permit.
Daily Parking Permits must be placed face-up on the dashboard for traffic enforcement personnel viewing.
Daily Parking Permits are valid for the day purchased and issued for either campus
It is a violation of the Student Honor Code and a crime to give one's Daily Parking Permit to another student.
Fremont Campus
Valid Daily Parking Permits allow student, staff, and visitors to park in Lots C, D, E, G, H, K, M, N, O, and P. After 5:00pm, students may park in Lot B with a valid Semester or Daily Parking Permit. There are Daily Parking Permit dispenser machines located in the general parking lots. Fremont Campus Map.
Daily Parking Permits are valid for the day purchased and issued for either campus.
Students, staff, and visitors must purchase a Daily Parking Permit to park in Lot M, N, O, and P. Lot N is restricted to ASOC, Carpool, Disabled parking, and parking for the President and Human Resources Offices.
Motorcycle Parking: Motorcycle parking for students, staff, and visitors is located in a designated area of Lot W. Lot W requires a Daily Parking Permit, Semester Parking Permit, or Staff Parking Permit.
Newark Center Campus
Daily Parking Permits allow students to park anywhere in Lots A, B, C, or D except those spaces designated as Administration or as Police/Emergency Vehicle. Newark Center Campus Map.
Daily Parking Permits are valid for the day purchased and issued for either campus
Motorcycle Parking: There are no parking spaces specifically designed for motorcycles at the Newark Center.
Metered Parking
Fremont Campus
Coin-operated metered parking is available in Lots M and N as a convenience and courtesy. The coin-operated meters have a maximum time limit of one (1) hour. The cost is $0.25 per fifteen (15) minutes.
The upgraded coin-operated meters will accept nickels, dimes, and quarters in any combination up to $1.00 for 60 minutes (1 hour) maximum. Any excess beyond $1.00 or 60 minutes (1 hour) is not recorded, and the coin operated machines do not give change for amounts over $1.00.
Daily Parking Permits, Student Semester Parking Permits, and Staff Parking Permits are not valid in metered parking stalls.
Newark Center Campus
There are no metered parking spaces at the Newark Center.
Guest / Visitor Parking
Guests or visitors must have a Guest Parking Permit or a Temporary Parking Permit that designates where they may park or must purchase a Daily Parking Permit. There is no free parking at either campus for guests or visitors unless the guest or visitor is issued a Guest or Temporary Parking Permit. Guest or Temporary Parking Permits may be requested at Campus Police Services. Designated visitor parking spaces require a Guest or Temporary Parking Permit.
Staff Parking
Students, guests, and visitors are not permitted to park in Staff Parking spaces.
Fremont Campus
On the Fremont Campus, Staff Parking Lots are: Lots A; B (except after 5:00pm with a valid Student Semester Parking Permit or Daily Parking Permit); staff stalls of C, Q, T, and W (except the motorcycle parking area). These lots require a valid Staff Parking Permit.
Staff Lot Q next to Building 27
New as of March 30, 2009: Staff Lot Q on the north, east, and south sides of Building 27 is restricted to Ohlone College Foundation staff members, Foundation visitors, and College employees assigned to work in Building 27.
If you must drive up to Building 27 for a meeting in Building 27, please have the Building 27 staff issue a special Building 27 Temporary or Guest Parking Permit to you so you will not receive a parking citation.
Staff and faculty members who are not Foundation staff or assigned to work in Building 27 and park in Lot Q will be cited.
Staff Lot B
After 5:00pm, students or visitors may park in Staff Lot B next to Hyman Hall on Mondays through Fridays and on Saturdays. Students must display a valid Student Semester Parking Permit or valid Daily Parking Permit. Visitors must display a valid Daily Parking Permit.
Staff Drop-off / Pick-up Parking Spaces
For the convenience and assistance to staff who must transport heavy supplies or equipment, there are two (2) spaces in Lot N and two (2) spaces in Lot U that are specifically set aside for short-term employee parking for the purpose of dropping off or picking up equipment or supplies.
The maximum time limit is forty-five (45) minutes - which will be strictly enforced. If you are parked for more than 45 minutes, you will be cited and the citation will not be dismissed.
Please do not abuse these spaces as it will not only result in receiving a citation but may result in the loss of these spaces.
Newark Center Campus
There are no designated staff parking lots or spaces at the Newark Center. Staff may park in any parking space with a valid Ohlone College Staff Parking Permit except those spaces designated as Administration or as Police/Emergency Vehicle.
Carpool Parking
Carpool parking is reserved only for student parking. Only vehicles displaying a valid Carpool Parking Permit issues by Campus Police Services for the semester are allowed to park in the designated Carpool Parking spaces. All other vehicles will be issues a parking citation.
Students who wish to obtain a Carpool Parking Permit must fill out an application form listing the persons who will be carpooling together and the vehicles that will be used for carpooling. The application will be signed under penalty of perjury. Upon review and approval, a Carpool Parking Permit will be issued to the applicant(s) for the semester. Carpool Parking Permits are only valid for the semester issues.
The Carpool Parking Permit must be visibly and prominently displayed. The Carpool Parking Permit should be hung from the rear-view mirror. Vehicles parked in carpool parking must also display a valid Daily or Semester Parking Permit.
Carpool Vehicle Parking Permits may not be transferred or lent to another person.

Fuel Efficient Vehicle Discounted Parking Permits
Vehicles qualified under the definitions and guidelines set forth by the California Air Resources Board (ARB) and the American Council for the Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) and recognized by the USGBC will be issued a discounted semester parking permit after approval by Campus Police Services.
In order for a vehicle to qualify as Fuel Efficient / Low Mileage / Alternative Fuel Vehicle, the vehicle must be recognized by the USGBC. The two sources for vehicles that qualify are the ARB and the ACEEE. The vehicles that qualify are listed annually and the list is updated and changed periodically.
Students wishing to obtain a Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking Permit must contact Campus Police Services and fill out an application form listing the vehicle that qualifies for the discount and the Fuel Efficient Parking Permit. The application will be signed under penalty of perjury. Upon review andconfirmation that the vehicle does qualify as a fuel efficient vehicle,a Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking Permit will be approved.
The cost for a Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking Permit is 20% below the normal cost of a student semester parking permit. The student shall pay for the permit at the Bookstore and upon presentation of proof of purchase Campus Police will issue a Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking Permit. Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking Permits are only valid for the semester issued and are valid only for the vehicle listed in the application.
The Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking Permit must be visibly and prominently displayed; it is recommended that the permit be hung from the rear-view mirror. The Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking Permit is not valid for parking in Lot M, N, O or P on the Fremont campus; students must purchase a Daily Parking permit for those parking lots. The Fuel Efficient Parking Permitis not valid for metered parking, staff parking lots or areas, visitor parking spaces, or Disabled Parking stalls unless a Disabled placard is also displayed.
Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking Permits may not be transferred or lent to another person.
Curfew
Both the Fremont and Newark Center campuses are closed from 11:00pm to 6:00am. Overnight parking is not allowed without prior approval from Campus Police Services.
Flea Market Parking - Fremont Campus
On the second Saturday of each month, the Flea Market has parking attendants located at both entrances to the Fremont campus. They collect parking fees and issue daily parking permits. Students, faculty, and staff may display their valid parking permits and bypass the attendants.
Disabled Persons with Placard
Persons with a valid Disabled Person Placard (pictured to the right) or valid Disabled Person or Disabled Veteran License Plate must also have a valid Student Semester Parking Permit, Daily Parking Permit, or Staff Parking Permit in order to park in spaces designated for disabled parking on the Fremont or the Newark campus.

on the map. Persons with a valid Disabled Person or Disabled Veteran Placard and a valid parking permit may park in any disabled parking or non-disabled parking space in any parking lot.
Disabled persons displaying either a State of California license plate or dashboard placard issued
for disabled persons/veterans or disabled parking permits obtained from Ohlone College's Disabled Student Programs Services (DSPS) may park in spaces reserved for the disabled. These spaces are marked with the standard blue painted Disabled Insignia. Disabled parking permits are available in the DSPS Office at (510) 659-6140 which is located in Room 7217, Building 7, second floor, Fremont campus.
Disabled parking space rules are enforced 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. No Exceptions. Students, staff, and visitors may not park, stop, leave vehicle standing (even if occupied), or block access to any disabled, handicap or wheelchair access (zebra lines) parking space. Parking in a disabled parking space without a valid disabled placard, disabled permit, or disabled license plate is a minimum fine of $275.00.
Parking Lot N is restricted to Carpool, Disabled, Hourly Meter, President, and Human Resources Applicants/Visitors with a related valid permit.
Parking Enforcement
Parking is enforced at both campuses Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 11:00pm and Saturdays 7:00am to 5:00pm. Parking is currently free on Sundays and Holidays, and is subject to change.
Disabled, staff, Emergency and Fire Lane, visitor designated parking, and other special or specifically designated parking is enforced 7 days per week.

Additional Parking Rules
- Park in marked stalls/spaces only. Do not park on roadways, paths, etc.
- Vehicles must be parked front bumper to front bumper. Do not back into stalls.
- On the Fremont campus, motorcycles must be parked in the reserved motorcycle area in Lot W. Motorcycles and bicycles are prohibited on campus walkways and in the buildings.
- Students and staff may not park in any visitor stalls.
- Vehicles parked in permit-only zones without the necessary permit are subject to citation or storage.
- Yellow loading zones are for use by vendors and staff who must deliver bulky items. These zones are restricted to 20-minute parking.
- Government vehicles engaged in required duties may park in all areas except Fire Lanes and Disabled Spaces.
- The use of skateboards and similar devices are prohibited on the campus.
- Driving is permitted on paved roads only.
- All California Vehicle Code Laws apply on the campus of Ohlone College along with the rules set by the Ohlone Community College Board of Trustees.
- The maximum speed limit is 25 miles per hour (mph) on roadways and 15 mph in parking lots.
- All traffic collisions must be reported.
- Current registration and driver's license are required of all persons operating a vehicles on campus.
- No privately owned vehicles shall be washed, repaired or stored on college property.
Parking Citations / Tickets
Parking Citation Appeals / Administrative Review Form
For a period of twenty-one (21) calendar days from the violation date or fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of the Notice of Delinquent Parking Violation (40207), a person may request a citation review by the issuing agency. You have no right of appeal after these specific periods.
An Administrative Review Appeal must be in writing. Please be specific in explaining why the citation should be dismissed. The review will be conducted by the Chief of the CPS Office. The person will be notified in writing of the results of the review.
