Check Traffic and Driving Times at 511.org. Depending on highway traffic conditions, driving to Ohlone College usually takes longer than people realize. When traveling in the morning or early evening, please add 30-60 minutes to the estimated commute time depending on the distance you are traveling.

• From Interstate 680 North (from San Jose, Milpitas) - Note that there are two (2) Mission Boulevard exits.

  1. (This is the longer way.) Take the first "Mission Boulevard West/East" exit (which is after Scott Creek Road) in Fremont and drive along the Mission Boulevard East fork (toward the hills). Merge onto Mission Boulevard. Drive north/northeast about 2.1 miles. Ohlone College is located on the right at 43600 Mission Boulevard, Fremont between Pine Street and Witherly Lane. Do not turn into the Pine Street south entrance. Turn right onto Witherly Lane, the north entrance of Ohlone College's Fremont campus.
     
     Or

  2. (This is the shorter way.) Take the second "Mission Boulevard (238)" exit (which is after Washington Boulevard) in Fremont (there is a MacDonald's and a gas station across from the off-ramp). Turn right (south) onto Mission Boulevard. Drive about 1 mile. Ohlone College is located on the left at 43600 Mission Boulevard, Fremont between Witherly Lane and Pine Street. Turn left onto Witherly Lane, the north entrance of Ohlone College's Fremont campus.

• From Interstate 680 South (from Dublin, Pleasanton) - Note that there are two (2) Mission Boulevard exits.

  1. (This is the shorter way.) Take the first "Mission Boulevard (238)" exit (which is after Vargas Road) in Fremont and turn left (south) onto Mission Boulevard. Drive about 1.1 miles. Ohlone College is located on the left at 43600 Mission Boulevard, Fremont between Witherly Lane and Pine Street. Turn left onto Witherly Lane, the north entrance of Ohlone College's Fremont campus.
     
     Or

  2. (This is the much longer way.) Take the second "Mission Boulevard (262 to 880)" exit (which is after Auto Mall Parkway/Durham Road) in Fremont and drive along the Mission Boulevard East fork up over the 680 freeway (toward the hills). Merge onto Mission Boulevard. Drive north/northeast about 2.7 miles. Ohlone College is located on the right at 43600 Mission Boulevard, Fremont between Pine Street and Witherly Lane. Do not turn into the Pine Street south entrance. Turn right onto Witherly Lane, the north entrance of Ohlone College's Fremont campus.

• From Interstate 880 North (from San Jose, Milpitas) - There are two options:

  1. Take the Mission Boulevard exit in Fremont. Drive north/northeast about 3.1 miles on Mission Boulevard. Ohlone College is located on the right at 43600 Mission Boulevard, Fremont between Pine Street and Witherly Lane. Do not turn into the Pine Street south entrance. Turn right onto Witherly Lane, the north entrance of Ohlone College's Fremont campus.
     
     Or

  2. Take the Auto Mall Parkway exit in Fremont and turn right (east toward the hills) onto Auto Mall Parkway. Stay on Auto Mall Parkway until it turns into Durham Road. Continue on Durham Road. Look for Mission Boulevard sign and make a left (north) at the light onto Mission Boulevard and continue for approximately 1.2 miles. Ohlone College is located on the right at 43600 Mission Boulevard, Fremont between Pine Street and Witherly Lane. Do not turn into the Pine Street south entrance. Turn right onto Witherly Lane, the north entrance of Ohlone College's Fremont campus.

• From Interstate 880 South (from Oakland, Hayward, Newark) - Take the Auto Mall Parkway exit in Fremont and turn left (east toward the hills) onto Auto Mall Parkway and drive up over the 880 freeway. Stay on Auto Mall Parkway until it turns into Durham Road. Continue on Durham Road. Look for Mission Boulevard sign and make a left (north) at the light onto Mission Boulevard and continue for approximately 1.2 miles. Ohlone College is located on the right at 43600 Mission Boulevard, Fremont between Pine Street and Witherly Lane. Do not turn into the Pine Street south entrance. Turn right onto Witherly Lane, the north entrance of Ohlone College's Fremont campus.

Parking lots are located on the right side of Witherly Lane; a valid parking permit is required for most events.

The Gary Soren Smith Center for the Fine and Performing Arts is the set of buildings with a round theatre, amphitheatre, balcony, and clock tower located mid-way up the hill on the right side of Witherly Lane.

Parking Lots and Parking Fees

The most convenient parking for the Smith Center is in Parking Lots B, C, D, and E; Disabled Parking is available in Parking Lot T behind the Smith Center.

You may take the free Smith Center Shuttle Van from the parking lots up to the Smith Center.

Or, you may opt to drop off your party at Key B which is close to the Smith Center, and then catch up to them after you have parked the car. From the Key B location, it is a short walk up the stairs to the Smith Center. You may not park your car in Key B.

Parking Permit Fees

Event Parking Permit: $2 (required at all times).

A valid parking permit is required at all times to park on the Ohlone College campus, including evenings, weekends, and for any Smith Center performance.

A Daily Parking Permit (valid for day or evening purchased) must be purchased for $2 by visitors and guests at a Daily Parking Permit vending machine located in Parking Lots C, D, H, K, M, and P on the Fremont campus. Ohlone College students may park using their valid Semester Parking Permit, and Ohlone College staff may park using their valid Staff Parking Permit.

Visitors and students may not park, at any time, in lots designated as Staff Parking Lots (Lots A, T, and W).

The most convenient parking for the Smith Center at Ohlone College is in Parking Lots B, C, D, and E. Disabled Parking is available in Parking Lots T, U, and W behind the Smith Center, as well as spaces marked for disabled parking in Lots A, B, C, and D.

Accessible Services

Wheelchair access and Assistive Listening Devices for hard-of-hearing individuals are available upon request. Please call the Box Office at (510) 659-6031 at least 24 hours in advance to request these services.

Smith Center Shuttle Van (free)

Instead of walking up the steps to events at the Gary Soren Smith Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (which includes Jackson Theatre, NUMMI Studio Theatre, an outdoor amphitheatre, Louie-Meager Art Gallery, a dance studio, as well as radio and television studios), hitch a ride on the Smith Center Shuttle Van.

This free shuttle circulates before many (but not all) performances through Ohlone College parking lots A-E picking up passengers and will deliver you to the Smith Center.

Please call the Box Office at (510) 659-6031 in advance to check whether the Smith Center Shuttle Van will be available for the performance you plan to attend.
