Refund for Credit Balance

You must request your refund!

The Cashier Department does not accept refund requests for any term until after the last day eligible for a full refund for that term. Refunds will be processed after the last day to add a full-term course. Refunds requested for the current term should be completed within four weeks following the last day to add a full-term course. Refunds for all previous terms will be processed within two to three weeks after the student's request to the Cashier.

Students should check the Refund Time Table for the actual date of the refund.

Please note that we are term based (each term in your student account stands alone) and credit balances can not be moved from one term to another. You may have an overall credit balance but if you have a balance due in any term, that balance must be paid before we can process your refund request.

If you have a credit balance and are requesting a refund, please complete the Refund Request Form. You must complete all information requested by the form:

• Your Name
• Your Student ID Number (or your Social Security Number but be aware that email is not a secure method of communication)
• Your Contact Phone Number
• Your current address ^* 
• and a statement requesting a refund

If you paid by credit card we are required by law to refund to that same credit card. You will need to email the full credit card number. Due to a new law beginning January 1, 2004, we no longer house your full credit card information, only the last four digits and the expiration date. We ask that you do not send your expiration date with your email request as email is not secure.

We will contact you via email to confirm your credit balance or to deny your request (with a full explanation).

 ^*  Please Note: The check for your credit balance will be mailed to the mailing address in your student record. Current students can VERIFY (not change) the mailing address in their student record using WebAdvisor. If that address is not correct, you need to change it with Admissions and Records (using the Address/Telephone/Email Change Form (PDF)) BEFORE making your refund request. If the address in your email message does not match your records, we can not process your check.
