Visit Sydney, Australia in the Fall of 2009
The Ohlone study abroad program to Sydney, Australia is going to take place in the fall of 2009, and we're recruiting students now to join us on this exciting adventure!
Attend an Informational Meeting
If you're interested in knowing more about the Ohlone-Sydney semester abroad, come to one of the informational meetings this semester. You'll learn more about the program--how it works, specifics about classes, travel tips, financial aid, etc. The dates of the meetings are:
- Wednesday, Febrary 11 @ 4pm
- Monday, March 2 @ 6pm
- Wednesday, March 18 @ 4pm
- Wednesday, April 1 @ 4pm
- Monday, April 20 @ 6pm
All meetings are in Room 5209 (off the Cafeteria on the Fremont campus).

About the Ohlone-Sydney Program
You have a great opportunity to join other Ohlone students studying in a new environment next fall! You will receive Ohlone credits for courses while studying and experiencing a new culture!
The program inclusions are listed below. If you have any questions at all feel free to respond via email or by telephone.
Program Dates
- Arrival in Sydney: August 2009
- Departure from Sydney: early December 2009
Accommodation
Homestay accommodation including breakfast and dinner.
Standard Inclusions
- Arrival Orientation
- Arrival Reception
- Departure Ceremony
- Term Dinner
- Arrival walking tour
- Full day to the Blue Mountains to include transportation by coach, a tour escort, a half-day local guide, and entrances
- Sydney Red metro pass for the program dates
- 50 AUD per student to be distributed and managed by the on-site director of the Sydney Center
Courses Offered
The following courses will be offered (each course must meet minimum enrollment of 10 students):
- English 101B Introduction to Literature (Brosamer)
- English 107 Literature and Film (Brosamer)
- Art 103B Survey of World Art History (Aussie Professor)
- Anthropology 102 Cultural Anthropolocy (Aussie Professor)
- English 203 Travel Journaling (Harrison)
Each course will be 45 contact hours (contact hours include classroom time and guided external study).
Program Fees
The exact cost of the program is still to be determined, although it should cost roughly $7,000.
