Global Service Corps - Volunteer and Internships Abroad

We offer rewarding cultural immersion serving-learning experiences in Thailand and Tanzania. Participants may choose from among our Short-Term (three to four weeks), Student Internship (six to ten weeks generally), and Long-Term (six weeks to many months) programs. Projects are offered in health, environment and education. Participants also enjoy full cultural immersion by living with local families who generously introduce their culture, cuisine and customs while welcoming their visitors as honored guests.

In Thailand, education program participants teach in local schools, monasteries or community health centers. Health program participants shadow doctors and experience many facets of a hospital organization as well as teach English conversation to the doctors, nurses and hospital staff. Students in pre-med, education, health, international development, Asian studies, international affairs, environment and anthropology will find these programs of special interest.

Tanzania participants provide community service by working on health and HIV/AIDS prevention and sustainable agriculture projects. Health and HIV/AIDS program participants give seminars at schools and in the community and train locals to become community resources. International Health Program Interns also visit local health facilities, shadow health professionals and join in patient visits. Sustainable agriculture participants provide Biointensive Agriculture (BIA) gardening seminars and create garden demonstration plots for the local area. Students in pre-med, international development, health, African studies, international affairs, anthropology, agriculture, environment and other related areas would find these programs of special interest.
